Its about the grassroots

In the campaign's latest blog post/email to supporters, they make it clear that they believe this primary will be won on the ground:
Modern day campaigns cost modern fortunes to run, because the "conventional wisdom" is that only by buying massive amounts of tv and radio advertising can politicians convert voters to their cause. Ok, maybe that's one way to get to job done ... but it isn't the only way...

I'm blessed with legions of volunteers who I know will work tirelessly - going door-to-door, working grocery store parking lots and library steps - to canvass for voters who share our commitment to a different kind of campaign, and a brighter future for Ohio.

Personally, I'm a big believer in the idea that a sound field operation is more important than any amount of money that you could ever raise. She is going to need the money eventually because it certainly helps, but it still can't replace good old grassroots activism.

  1. Grassroots is nice but it can't do it alone. Remember it only worked for Obama because he raised a crap ton of cash.
